Sea Urchins
- The sea urchin has no brain. Instead, the neural center is a ring.
- The whole surface of their body acts as an eye and has many similar functions:
• There are light sensitive molecules all over the body of a sea urchin
• The spines on the urchins help the creatures to determine the angle the light is coming from
- Respond strongly to changes in light and water pH.
- Although they have no brain, they are understood to still have a thought process.
