The Echinodermata phylum includes organisms commonly known as star fish and sea urchins. The nervous systems of these animals are very different from the human nervous system. Most echinodermata do not have brains, and their central nerve is a ring in the middle of their body. Many do not have eyes, and instead have light sensitive molecules all over the surface of their skin. These molecules allow the organisms to know if they are vulnerable and easily seen.
